Reverse Stock Split

The term reverse stock split describes the process through which a company reduces the number of shares while the price per share is increased. Some companies may perform a reverse stock split to avoid being delisted from an exchange if the price per share has fallen below a predetermined amount, or to reduce the number of shareholders.
