Municipal Bond

A municipal bond is a bond that is issued by a state or city government or some other type of government that deals with a specific area. It can be a bond used by new businesses and construction projects among other operations, such as highways, bridges, water distribution, etc. In most cases this bond is exempt from not only federal taxes but also income taxes from a state that the bond was issued in.
