Depreciation

Depreciation is an accounting and financial term used to describe the reduction in value of assets as time passes. Some of the factors that cause depreciation on an asset are wear and tear, technological outdating, or depletion among others. The cost of the asset is then spread over time; the specific time over which assets will be depreciated depend on the asset itself.
