Debt to Capital Ratio

The debt to capital ratio presents the portion of an entity’s debt to its total capital. The debt to capital ratio is useful when determining a company’s financial solvency, and is also a measurement of the company’s financial leverage.

Debt to Capital Ratio = Debt / Total Equity *

*Total equity is made of debt + equity
