Basis Swap

In a basis swap the interest rates between two financial securities that one has are swapped. It works to help with getting risks from interest rates to be reduced. This is important because when lending and borrowing rates change between different services interest rates can impact the financial service that one has. This can work for floating indexes like commercial paper, T-bills, CDs and Libor funds.
