Activist Fund

An activist fund is a popular type of hedge fund. This is where a large portion of a business is bought up by an investor’s fund. This is used to help with influencing the finances of a group for one’s financial benefit. An example of an activist fund comes from Carl Icahn’s Icahn Fund. This fund worked to buy up a massive stake in Time Warner that worked to help improve the company’s share values.
